September 25 Fishing Report

September 25 Fishing Report!

Flows in Livingston are around 1,850 CFS and temperatures have been peaking around 60 the past few days. Clarity is looking great after that mud plug this past weekend.

We are seeing blue wings hatching on the main river and spring creeks. As well as a few different types of bigger mayflies. Drakes and or Hecuba’s !.?

Dry fly fishing has still been the best way to catch trout. People are still getting hopper eats out there… a small purple haze #16 has been doing work as well.

Streamer bite is showing signs of life also. We have been doing ok fishing yellow streamers… try olives and whites too. Looking for cooler cloudy days and this bite could really turn on here soon!

Nymphing…. Good lord. Whitefish have been on fire. A few trout in between, but the bobber rig has been plenty productive for beginner anglers just looking for a tug.

SPRING CREEKS-

On cloudy days look for fish eating blue wings. Other than that fish have been eating midges daily and tiny gray and white miracle nymphs have been catching fish (#20-#22)

A small NZ strike indicator with a small weighted pheasant tail to a miracle nymph would be a great start.

Good luck out there and tight lines! Please visit the shop for more intel and fishy fliez!
