June 17
Flows in town about 9,500 CFS this morning, about 7,400 in Corwin.
Clarity looks like it’s getting better and better each day. A short float a few days ago in the evening produced some nice fish, on black streamers, and stonefly nymphs. Had some fish eat a yellow streamer too, but I couldn’t set the damn hook.
The river is getting ready to roll and it’s a great time to fish the Yellowstone River in Paradise valley. We have seen a number of large, Chocolate caddis out in the evenings, accompanied by a splashy, occasional rise. And have found a few migrating stonefly nymphs under some rocks along the bank. The food is there, and we think the fishing should get pretty good these next few weeks (hopefully)!

Paradise Valley Spring Creeks:
The PMD hatch is starting to ramp up. We caught fish on split case pheasant tails under an assortment of PMD dries yesterday. Most of our fish were caught on the Pmd nymphs, but late in the afternoon a small PMD spinner was taking fish on the surface. We bounced around the creek a lot and found fish feeding in the upper, middle, and lower section, all keyed in on PMD stuff. A green perdigon #16 we tie at the shop caught fish in the deeper runs as well.
Please stop by the shop for more up to date information on the Livingston area, and check out our selection of hand tied flies!
